Meet and Mingle Group in Stowmarket

In Stowmarket we currently have a group that meets 3 times month, it is aimed to provide stimulating events, meeting people to help prevent social isolation which is a known threat to an individual’s health and well-being.

The group is called Meet and Mingle and has been going for over two years and has regular attendees. The staffing is funded by Mears Care staff and volunteers, the venue and many of the events are donated from within the local community.

Pancakes For All, Sunday 11th 9.30am

Stonham Aspal & Mickfield Church.

This Sunday we are holding a special Worship For All service to celebrate Shrove Tuesday (more commonly known as Pancake Day). Come along to the service to find out all about the traditions surrounding this day, which is the day before Lent begins. Pancakes will be served at the end.

Broadband in Stonham Aspal

Faster Broadband is now enabled throughout Stonham Aspal.

This is FTTC – Fibre To The Cabinet. This means that there is fibre to the new cabinets (Tennis Courts and Crowfield Road/ A1120 junction), and then to your home by the existing phone wires.

Unless you have a newer Broadband modem (within, roughly, the last 3 years), you will need one that supports VDSL2. The speed depends on how far away you are from the cabinet.

Your existing supplier will be able to quote you to change your service, but shop around, there may be better deals. Some people have found that they have had to change their telephone master socket to get a stable and better link: You need a NTE5C box. You can buy these online and they are fairly simple to install yourself: If your installer visits make sure they put one in!

Use your token at Debenham Co-op for us!

The village hall is one of the choices in the Debenham Co-op awards scheme.

If you visit the co-op please be sure to ask for as many tokens as you can get and support our cause to raise more funds for further improvements to the village hall.

We still want to paint the outside of the hall, replace soffits fascia and gutters, renew the drains and resurface the car park.

Thank you!
