We are looking for more Sidesmen, can you help us?

St Mary & St Lambert, Stonham Aspal with Mickfield

The role of Sidemen is not difficult but their contribution to the life of the church is important. It enables Worship to proceed smoothly and ensures that all is ready for the clergy or lay person who is taking the service. Duties include unlocking and making sure the church is ready before the service, welcoming and handing out service books etc to the congregation on their arrival, to keep an eye out and welcome anyone who arrives late, to make sure that things are put away after the service and count the collection. You will also be asked if possible to be responsible for unlocking and locking church on the weekend that you are on duty.
If you feel you would like to be part of the team of Sidesmen please let us know, it would be lovely to welcome some new faces.
David Tydeman and Alex Pratt, Churchwardens.

Candlemas Evensong

Sunday 3rd Feb 6.30pm, Stonham Aspal Church

Candlemas Evensong with the United Benefice choir

Join us as we celebrate the Festival of THE PRESENTATION OF CHRIST IN THE TEMPLE.

Candlemas takes place 40 days after Christmas, and is among the most ancient feasts of the Church.

It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus, in Luke 2: 22-40.

In some Churches it is during this service that Candles for the year are blessed, a symbol of Jesus Christ, the light of the world.

Everyone is very welcome.

First Sunday of the month

6.30pm

Evening Prayer

Second Sunday of the month

9.30am

Worship for All

Third Sunday of the month

9.30am

Holy Communion

Fourth Sunday of the month

9.30am

Where there is a fifth Sunday

10.00am

Usually Holy Communion at one of the 8 churches

WORSHIP AND PRAISE FOR SUNDAY MORNING is a new service which we have introduced to extend the types of worship we are able to offer.  This service will sometimes be led by Revd Philip or Revd Helen or on other occasions by a lay member of the church.  It is a contemporary Service of the Word which includes prayers, readings from the Bible and hymns.  The service, which is suitable for all ages, will last about 45 minutes and refreshments are served afterwards. Everyone is welcome……
